6. WWW Wednesday 17/08/22

I’ve been swamped at work so haven’t managed to get much progress made with any of my current reads, but I am enjoying them all and fully intend to get them finished as soon as I have the chance.

Before I get into my first WWW Wednesday, I wanted to add a reminder that KJ Chapman’s author interview will be posted on Saturday the 20th, which I’m excited to share with everyone.

Hosted by Taking on a World of Words, the three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading:

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clark.

American Royalty by Tracey Livesay

Tell Me Everything by Laura Kay.

Recently Finished:

The Maid by Nita Prose was a little different to what I expected, but good all the same. Molly was an interesting character and I’m amazed it took so long for anything bad to happen at her hotel given everything that was going on before the murder took place.

Reading Next:

The Last Party by Clare Mackintosh, which I am looking forward to. A definite highlight for me, because I really like the author’s writing and I’m excited for a female-led detective series by a female author.

I haven’t had much luck with these so far, and I don’t have many detective novels with a female main character on my tbr list, so any suggestions are welcome.

Author:

I read a lot of books and get emotionally invested in the lives of fictional characters.
